CERMUSA Staff Presenting at Technology Day October 15
On October 15, 2009, Saint Francis University will be hosting Technology Day. The event is geared towards area students in grades 9 - 12 who are enrolled in technology-related classes or who have an interested in technology-related careers.
CERMUSA's presentation, Autism and Drumming Research, will be conducted by Kent Tonkin, Assistant Director for Information Technology, and Brenda Guzic, Telehealth Research Specialist. The presenters will discuss prototype technologies that are being developed to provide music therapy to persons with Autism and other disorders of consciousness. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a remote electronic drumming session and explore other digital percussion devices.
Also presenting at this event will be CERMUSA's graduate student, Jonathan Miller. His presentation, Digitial Architectural Modeling for your Community, will explore the basics of digital architectural modeling using Google SketchUp and Google Earch. Students will learn how their volunteer efforts can benefit their community and they will also have the opportunity to construct a miniature paper model of a Saint Francis University building.
